T-Mobile G1: The First Android Phone

For the first time The HTC Dream launched T-Mobile G1 with Google Android as operating system. It is the first smart phone to run Google’s mobile platform. I am sure it will potentially to be the competitor Apple iPhone, right?

T-Mobile G1 has full qwerty keyboard. It brings various type of connection such as 3G support, Wifi, GPS and bluetooth. The Google Android operating system offers the best integration with google applications like Google Maps, Gmail, Google Talk, Google Calendar and Youtube. It can also access to the Amazon MP3 Store.

It displays TFT screen with widescreen 3,2 inches and the resolution 320 X 480 pixels. It make us comfortable working with it. Screen looks clear and sharp with the colors of nature. Touch screen is also quite responsive, so you never need to use a stylus to operate it. Although not sophisticated iPhone screen, but the ability of this screen is more than adequate. Below the detail information:
• HSDPA 1700 / 2100 plus quadband EDGE
• WiFi
• 3D graphics acceleration
• 3-megapixel camera
• 256 MB integrated storage, 1GB microSD card included
• Android Market for on-device app purchases
• Amazon MP3 app for on-device music purchases
• Push Gmail support with full HTML client
• Bluetooth (but no A2DP)
• Google Maps with Street View
• No Microsoft Exchange support
• No desktop synchronization -- it all happens over the air
• 350 minutes talk time over 3G, 406 minutes over GSM
• 402 hours standby over 3G, 319 hours over GSM.

I really like some additional features. The real powerful of the T-Mobile G1 is the Google Android platform. It has the potential to make smartphones more personal and powerful.
